The Yume Nikki fangame Yume Nisshi has been discontinued. It appears that the author also no longer wants people to make gameplay videos either. Or so I would assume, since the Yume Nikki fangame Nicopedia lists it under the game’s whose producers request players not to make gameplay videos or live streams of their games.

“Wait, isn’t that that fangame where the author went apeshit over copyright stuff and said she’d cancel the game if the Westerners broke the password one more time???”

Indeed, this is the same game. However, a quick glance and Zenmaigahara’s twitter account does not reveal any specific reasons as to why it was cancelled. The “Westerners” did technically get ahold of the game for a third time…

As to whether or not the game will be continued… well, that’s unknown at the moment. I’ll do a bit more digging around and update this post if anything new comes up. 

I was never really that big a fan of Nisshi, but I feel bad for the people who did like it. Sorry guys. Sorry that the author of the game that you like has to be such a child.

NOTE: For whatever reason, the site won’t load for me. Even if I use a different browser, it just won’t pull it up. I wouldn’t be surprised if Zenmaigahara blocked anyone outside of Japan from viewing it, but I wanna make sure– is anyone else having issues accessing the site, or is that just a weird problem on my end? It’d be so helpful if I could see if she wrote anything on the site regarding the game’s discontinuation. 

Edit: Thanks to YellowLightDistrict, I know it’s just my stupid computer and that the site works fine on Western computers. Not sure what the issue is, other fc2 blogs open up fine on my browsers. Not sure what makes this one so different. Not to mention I actually HAVE accessed it in the past before, but now I can’t. Spooooooky.
